While I was at Clark Airbase after my Jungle survival training a U.S. Navy helicopter crashed just outside the base. I was watching an outdoor movie on base at the time it happened and saw all of the fire and rescue equipment go out. The next morning the local newspapers reported that five U.S. Servicemen were killed in the crash. I didn't know it was Danny Petersen until I got back to Danang and got a letter from my mother.
